Miniature Monday - Painted Miniature Showcase
We're starting off this week's Miniature Monday with a happy belated Father's Day to all the dads out there! With that taken care of, it's time to get back to talking about miniatures. We've spent months sharing previews of our resurrection of the Trinity: Battleground miniature game, but in all that time we've rarely shown the original miniatures. After our successful set of demos at the Cangames convention, we thought it would be fun to show off the painted miniatures we used. We only used miniatures that came with the box set to give players the most authentic demo possible, but used metal versions of the sculpts to better show off their detail. These weren't painted by a professional, but that just shows the kinds of results the average painter can achieve with these models.
Starting off with the Aberrants, our demo Cadre included Fhata Khan, Nazul, and Caul Fein, giving Aberrant players a good mix of ranged firepower, crushing psionic might, and close combat brutality. Although each Aberrant's focus on a specific type of combat and the smaller mutants' limited Psi Points made them tricky to play, they were devastating when used carefully.
The Psion Strike Team consisted of Somers, Jameson, Batya, and Cameron, and was a formidable force in its own right. The amount of firepower available to the team (literally, in Cameron's case), and their range of useful defensive and support Psi Powers made up for the Psions being slightly weaker than their mutant counterparts. Somers and Batya's weapons were particularly worthy of note, dealing heavy damage and sometimes catching unwary Aberrants off-guard with a well-timed Ambush. Additionally, outnumbering their opponents gave them tactical opportunities their enemies lacked.
We hope showing off our painted miniatures inspires painters to start brainstorming their own colour schemes for when Trinity: Battleground re-releases later this year. We look forward to seeing what you all come up with!
