Miniature Monday - Cool Things Down with Batya

Hello everyone, and welcome to the last Miniature Monday of 2024. The Faceless Publishing staff will be taking next week through New Years off to rest and spend time with family, and we wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Fittingly enough, this week's miniature reveal is Batya, a Psion with the chilling power of cryokinesis. She also happens to be the last unrevealed miniature from the Trinity: Battleground box set, so what better way to close out the year?

Batya (misspelled as "Bayta" in some marketing material) was one of the junior members of Strike Team Anvil. Like other members of her team, she was available as a resin miniature in the core box, as well as a metal model in a separate blister pack. As a Tier 1 Psion, like McGowen and Jameson, she wasn't extremely powerful but had a low point cost that made her easy to fit into a strike team. Her powers were limited, but very cool (pun intended), and included Hypothermic Blast and Heat Sink. Hypothermic Blast dealt damage at medium range while Heat Sink was a unique defensive power that allowed her to freeze moisture in the air to create a shield, providing significant cover from any attacker trying to shoot through it. Backing up her powers was the same model of Banji Thunder Shotgun carried by Hewish and an Armor Vest to protect against attacks that made it through her icy shield. Her Firearms skill made attacks with her shotgun even more dangerous. Batya may not have been a combat powerhouse, but she could hold her own in a fight and her powers brought some interesting diversity to a strike team filled with telekinetics and pyrokinetics. We look forward to seeing how players make use of her unique abilities when the game re-releases next year.

Until next year, the Faceless team wishes everyone a safe and very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year. We look forward to bringing you more Miniature Mondays in 2025!
