Miniature Monday - McGowen Skitters Across the Battlefield
It's Miniature Monday again, and that means its time to reveal another miniature from our upcoming relaunch of Trinity: Battleground. This week, we reveal McGowen, a Psion with a piece of equipment arachnophobes are sure to hate.
Like many of the Psions, McGowen was released both as a resin miniature in the Trinity: Battleground box set, and as a metal miniature in a blister pack. As with the other miniatures available in both materials, we decided to scan the metal version as we believe it has slightly finer detail. This choice was particularly easy to make with McGowen, as parts of the resin version were quite spindly and prone to warping. This spindly nature carried over to his stats, as McGowen was a tier 1 Psion, the lowest tier, and thus one of the cheapest Psions a player could field in terms of points. However, this did not make him a pushover. His Psi Powers included Flight, which allowed him to quickly close with his Aberrant foes, and Tow, which let him disrupt the aim of anyone who tried to attack him at range. Combined, these powers helped him safely reach melee, where he really wanted to be. The only piece of equipment he carried was also his miniature's most prominent feature, a Spider Harness. The articulated limbs extending from his back inflicted grievous wounds in close combat, while the harness portion served as armor to repel retaliation. Beyond this fearsome piece of equipment, he had the second highest Close Combat attribute of any Psion in the box set, and was tied for the highest Health. These attributes and his Melee skill made it clear that he was ready to brawl with any Aberrant who crossed his path. It won't be long before he can once again take to the battlefield and stalk his prey.
Join us next week as we reveal another Psion from the box set.
