Miniature Monday - The Electrifying Dr. Sager
Welcome back to another Miniature Monday! After last week's look at Sage, we thought we'd reveal another unusual Psion. This week, it's the strange and electrifying Dr. Sager.
Dr. Sager was released as a metal miniature in the same blister pack as Sage, so it's only fitting we mention the two in consecutive posts. Out of all the Psions released for Trinity: Battleground, Dr. Sager was the only one who specialized in the Electrokinesis aptitude. Although electricity was mentioned in its name, this specialization gave Psions the ability to manipulate other forms of energy as well. Dr. Sager took full advantage of this by having both of the aptitude's unique powers. Control Illumination allowed him to blind enemies with a flash of light, giving them a significant penalty to attack rolls, while Stun let him channel electricity through his body to severely injure any Aberrant who struck him in melee combat. His equipment loadout consisted solely of an ESS Battlesuit. This unique item was introduced on the card that came with Dr. Sager's model (just like Hewish's Camouflage Suit), and provided him with both light armour and a long range and deadly electrical attack. The many small dots on the suit are also a great example of our scanning process' ability to capture detail. Supplementing his weapons and powers, Dr. Sager had several useful skills. Besides the more common Firearms and Leadership skills, he was also unparalleled in Engineering. This not only made him an expert at performing technical tasks as part of scenarios, it also allowed him to help his comrades by unjamming weapons and repairing damaged equipment.
Bringing uncommon powers and unique equipment to the field, Dr. Sager was a valuable edition to any Strike Team's roster, and we look forward to seeing how players use his talents when Trinity: Battleground returns.
