Miniature Monday - Ratz in the Streets!

Over the past few months we've talked a lot about the Goth Rats line we're resurrecting, but not as much about their place in Injurius Games, the game that inspired our resurrection of these characterful minis in the first place. Today, we're going to show off another miniature, as well as his IG stat sheet. We're happy to (re)introduce one of the Goth Rats line's five Broodlings, reborn in Injurius Games as the Street Rat Soldier.

Broodlings are smaller even than the other Goth Rats, but this one tries to make up for it with firepower and a bad attitude. He's armed with a pair of Machine Pistols and wears a trenchcoat over his cobbled-together clothing. A large ankh hangs from his belt, no doubt scavenged from somewhere.
In Shock Force, the Broodling was part of a larger unit, while in Injurius Games he's an individual model who operates independently. Like all models in Injurius Games, his attributes and equipment are tracked on a single sheet of paper called a Unit Record Sheet, which you can see below.

The amount of text may seem intimidating at first, but there's less to keep track of than you might think. Only the top third of the page contains the model's starting stats. The other two-thirds contain all the injuries, skills, and upgrades he can acquire over the course of the game. Most skirmish games include this information in a campaign section in the rulebook, but including it in the Unit Record Sheet has some big advantages. Firstly, it allows the upgrades to be individualized for each model in a squad. The Street Rat Soldier and the Street Rat Grenadier have very different equipment and roles on the tabletop, and the use of customized tables allows them to develop in ways that a single generic upgrade table wouldn't allow. Related to that, listing all a model's possible upgrades on its sheet gives players an overview of not only what the model does, but what capabilities it might gain in the future. This lets players more easily grasp how best to use their models during play, and gives them an idea of what upgrades they can look forward to in the future. Lastly, including this information on the unit's sheet simplifies book-keeping and drastically cuts down on the amount of time spent cross-referencing what certain weapons or abilities do. All your units' rules are right at your fingertips at all times in Injurius Games.
Whether you plan on using them in Shock Force, Injurius Games, or any other tabletop game. We hope you're looking forward to the rerelease of the Goth Rats later this year as much as we are. Tune in next week for another ratty reveal.
