Miniature Monday - A Strike Team of Artists

After last week's tantalizing glimpse at an upcoming project, this week we're back to talking about our resurrection of Trinity: Battleground. So far, we've revealed most of the game's miniatures, talked about the rules, and provided an overview of the setting, but there's another part of the game left to examine, its art. In addition to pictures of painted miniatures and helpful diagrams, the Trinity: Battleground rulebook was filled with art from the fantastic stable of artists White Wolf had assembled over their years as an RPG publisher. The cover art by Chris Moeller (a full version of which graced the box, and the included poster) immediately grabbed attention.

The visual feast continued from there, with a mix of black and white, colour, and CGI art to showcase the action of The Aberrant War,

give players a map of the world they were fighting over,

show the mighty Leviathans that carried the Psions across the stars,

examine the inhuman forms of the Aberrants,

or simply enhance the atmosphere of power and mystery the setting presented.

A range of talented artists, including William O'Connor, Jeff Holt, Leif Jones, Scott James, Langdon Foss, Mark Jackson, and Josh Timbrook all contributed their passion and skill to capturing the unique feeling and spectacle of the Trinity universe, and their contributions to the game deserve to be remembered and celebrated alongside those who wrote the rules and sculpted the miniatures. When you get your hands on your own copy of the rulebook later this year, take a few minutes to take in the art, and consider the amount of talent and work that goes into any game, even if the game itself is not the success its creators hoped for.
