Miniature Monday - Lu Chen Knows Your Thoughts

It's Miniature Monday again, and the reveals continue! Today's model is Lu Chen, a rare Psion who has studied the telepathy aptitude.

This stern looking character was released as a metal miniature in a blister pack alongside Juanos Palmero. Both were Psions with unusual powers who were armed for melee, but Juanos Palmero focused on the manipulation of the body while Lu Chen focused on the mind. His telepathic Psi Powers included Sense Emotion, which allowed him to predict the actions of any target in range by looking at their face down action counter. He also had the strangely named Shagg's Folly power, which let him anticipate his enemies movements and counter them before they even happened. In game terms, this allowed him to use the Ambush action without sacrificing action points. He could take his turn at any point in the round without penalty, striking when the enemy least expected it. While these sorts of mind games were powerful, sometimes a problem required simple, brute force. Lu Chen wasn't helpless in that department either, able to chill enemies at long range with his Cryofreeze power. He wore an Armor Carapace for protection, and carried a deadly vibrosword to cut down any Aberrant who tried to close with him. The sword was dangerous enough on its own, but his Melee and Might skills made his attacks with it even more lethal.

Out of all the Psions released for Trinity: Battleground, Lu Chen was one of the most interesting. His powers interacted with the game's mechanics in unique ways and required skill to unlock their full potential. A player who mastered them could use Lu Chen to help dictate the flow of battle and counter his opponent's actions before they could even be made.

We'll see you next week, when we talk about the expansions that were original planned for Trinity: Battleground and sadly were never released.
