Miniature Monday - Big Guns and Bugs

In last week's Miniature Monday we showed off the final scanned Goth Rat miniature, but the scanning work isn't done yet. We're hard at work scanning the rest of the parts for the multi-part miniatures before we begin the task of cleaning everything up for release. By scanning each piece separately, instead of with the models assembled, we ensure the best possible results. It also gives us more options to make new parts for old miniatures, and gives gamers who buy the STLs more flexibility with how they use them. For example, check out this Goth Rat autocannon.

This hefty weapon was originally carried by the Goth Rat Hulker we showed off a few weeks ago, but including it as its own file makes it much more versatile. With a little modeling work, either before or after printing, this same weapon could easily be made into a rifle for a giant robot, a shoulder-mounted heavy weapon, or even armament for a vehicle. Unleashing your creativity through conversions is one of the greatest parts of the miniature hobby, and we're eager to see what modelers do with the parts we provide.
Speaking of that, our friend Agis at A.D. Publishing has more painted Trinity: Battlegrounds miniatures to show off. This time, it's the scuttling Thune Aberrant unit. Stop by his website to check them out and see a whole host of other fantastically painted miniatures.

Stop by next week as we continue with more progress updates for the Goth Rats.
